Miss Layla came to see me for her First Birthday Cake Smash. I think she liked her cake.. a little cautious, but overall a great job by this cutie!!!

I am a hypocrite.. I admit it. I don’t necessarily feel like my “likes” on fb defines my business. However, being in a new place, I would like to see some new faces too! Word of Mouth has been my biggest, amazing advertisement. I am so thankful when people do refer me. It makes me feel all warm and gushy inside knowing the love of my chosen career makes people happy and they love and appreciate custom portraiture as much as I do. In a business where most prosumer cameras’ price points are pretty reasonable and having a photography “business” is easy as addding “photography” to your name, it’s a challenge to set yourself apart. Thankfully I have a client base that truly can, at a glance, know the difference. I HEART all of you that do.. THANK YOU!!!!

20×20 Storyboard. Storyboards can be beautiful work of art on children’s bedroom walls. For example, images done in black and white, the complimentary colors in the designs can coordinate with their room. Love, love first birthday Sessions! Watching little ones smash a cake is especially fun! There are a few types of kids for this session, Some kids are intimidated by a whole cake being put in front of them without someone saying “no” so, they dabble and poke and look at their Moms, kind of asking for permission. Another type of kid is one who starts to dive in even before you can set the cake down to get those first initial shots of them prior to cake smashing. Then the kids who dabble, poke and then devour. Sometimes they cry, being all frosting can be icky. Most times they are so happy to be completely free to make a mess. I am so happy they do!

Included with First Birthday Collection is a 20×20 Custom Storyboard. These are mounted on reinforced backing and sprayed for lifetime protection. Storyboard below is shown in an optional Organic Bloom Custom frame. These are custom made for each client in the color and style of your choosing. A beautiful, elegant way to display your child’s session. (20×20 frame is size of opening, frames may be larger in actual size, depending on style chosen. This blue-eyed beauty is the love of her Mommy’s life. Some of my very favorite tutu photos were of this session. Mom and Grandma purchased large wall portraits and I fell so in love with them. Beautiful, timeless portraits to treasure for sure. Enjoy, thank you all so much!
I always say I am so lucky to have the best clients and they certainly have the most beautiful children. Most people compliment on my work and the ability to capture children’s gorgeous eyes. It’s a little bit of an obsession of mine. Since the very first day I layed eyes on my oldest daughter, her eyes captivated me. It translates through my photography and nothing makes me happier. It also makes my clients happy and that’s what it’s all about..right!?
It’s almost the end of May and school will be finishing up soon. We are still moving things over to our new location in Monroe NH. Bigger studio, beautiful grounds and lovely town, all at my disposal. I am so fortunate and so excited for summer sessions!!! I will be resuming my “what to wear” posts. I know it can be a challenge to coordinate everyone.
One of those sessions, where I open the door to greet my clients and their children’s beauty takes my breath away..
My friend Gail, from Gail Anne Photography shared a valentine card template she had made and I couldn’t wait to use it! ( I did tweak it a tad to fit my image) I love the bright, fun colors and knew a black and white funny valentine would be just perfect! All my girls will be armed with custom Valentines cards this year for their class parties and they are super excited! Custom cards, no matter what the size is a product I am proud to offer and my Valentine mini-session clients are going to LOVE them!

Yes, it was a snowy day and I talked my beautiful little subject into putting on a really pretty dress to take pictures. I went outside camera settings pretty much ready and just snapped away. 2 minutes and we were back inside all snuggly warm. She actually liked trying to catch snowflakes and I loved watching her. As I was processing the images my 6yr old asked “mommy, who is that beautiful girl in the purple dress?” lol..she didn’t recognize her little sister at first glance. Thanks for looking!

I loved the idea of this session the moment I was asked about doing it. A Christmas surprise for Lance Hall of Hall’s Market in Hardwick, Vermont. Once one of the area’s most popular DJs and very much a huge fan of the Group KISS. His wife had the awesome girls from the Clip Joint in Hardwick take care of the makeup part and then the fun started. The kids were really into this session and did such a good job at not telling their dad. I saw images of him opening his portraits on Christmas morning and it was priceless. I was so proud and honored to have helped in that kind of reaction. Thanks Hall family!
