Last week the first round of my brand new Newsletter went out. This will be sent out every few months. If you signed up after the initial mailing or need to sign up, here is the special I announced..I was going to wait until Saturday, but my weekend is very busy and I don’t want to forget!
I have already booked a few of these appointments and some certificates have been purchased. Make sure to book early.. I am a hypocrite.. I admit it. I don’t necessarily feel like my “likes” on fb defines my business. However, being in a new place, I would like to see some new faces too! Word of Mouth has been my biggest, amazing advertisement. I am so thankful when people do refer me. It makes me feel all warm and gushy inside knowing the love of my chosen career makes people happy and they love and appreciate custom portraiture as much as I do. In a business where most prosumer cameras’ price points are pretty reasonable and having a photography “business” is easy as addding “photography” to your name, it’s a challenge to set yourself apart. Thankfully I have a client base that truly can, at a glance, know the difference. I HEART all of you that do.. THANK YOU!!!!

I knew the Custom Frame to display my newest portrait in my new living room would be something from The Organic Bloom. Love, love first birthday Sessions! Watching little ones smash a cake is especially fun! There are a few types of kids for this session, Some kids are intimidated by a whole cake being put in front of them without someone saying “no” so, they dabble and poke and look at their Moms, kind of asking for permission. Another type of kid is one who starts to dive in even before you can set the cake down to get those first initial shots of them prior to cake smashing. Then the kids who dabble, poke and then devour. Sometimes they cry, being all frosting can be icky. Most times they are so happy to be completely free to make a mess. I am so happy they do!

I can’t believe how behind I am with blogging all my sessions from the last few months. I thought I was all caught up, but I have a few more. This gorgeous little man was a dream to photograph. Easy going and eyes to die for. Mom was super laid back, so I guess it runs in the family. His Mom specifically asked for some black and white portraits (girl after my own heart) and no matter what, color or bw..his eyes are just..wow! Thanks for stopping by! -Sammi

This blue-eyed beauty is the love of her Mommy’s life. Some of my very favorite tutu photos were of this session. Mom and Grandma purchased large wall portraits and I fell so in love with them. Beautiful, timeless portraits to treasure for sure. Enjoy, thank you all so much!
I always say I am so lucky to have the best clients and they certainly have the most beautiful children. Most people compliment on my work and the ability to capture children’s gorgeous eyes. It’s a little bit of an obsession of mine. Since the very first day I layed eyes on my oldest daughter, her eyes captivated me. It translates through my photography and nothing makes me happier. It also makes my clients happy and that’s what it’s all about..right!?
It’s almost the end of May and school will be finishing up soon. We are still moving things over to our new location in Monroe NH. Bigger studio, beautiful grounds and lovely town, all at my disposal. I am so fortunate and so excited for summer sessions!!! I will be resuming my “what to wear” posts. I know it can be a challenge to coordinate everyone.
One of those sessions, where I open the door to greet my clients and their children’s beauty takes my breath away..
We have a wonderful tradition each year of visiting our favorite place in Maine. Ogunquit will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s the place we go every Mother’s day. We don’t stay long, just enough to have a night away with our girls and take a drive along the Coast. Letting the girls play on the beach is always a treat for me as much as it is for them. Cold as it is, they don’t seem to mind. The giggles and smiles are endless. I have gotten a little bit wiser in bringing extra attire along as I know they can’t resist the temptation of getting more then their feet wet.
Still trying to blog when I can. I am going back and fouth between homes now. Hoping there is a light at the end of our moving tunnel. lol. Sessions are still happening, newborns coming up and HS Senior sessions. I am already booking fall sessions, very excited people are thinking ahead. I am currently booked until the week of June 17th. It can take planning, but thinking ahead and booking early will guarantee dates and times for everyone. Since sessions are limited each week, I feel bad when I have to tell people dates they inquire about are taken. Please make sure to plan accordingly. I am adding amazing backdrops to my collection. I have one currently on it’s way I have waited 5 months for, handpainted by the very talented Becky Gregory. She often has a waiting list and I am sure it will be well worth the wait and investment.

The R family, winners of my “Thankful” Giveaway from Fall are such a wonderful family. It was so awesome to meet them! Alyssa, who I had been in contact with over the last few months, was truly grateful for the opportunity to have timeless portraits done of her family.
