I first Photographed Kayley as a Senior a few years ago.. she was living in MA then and has since located to Hardwick, VT. She contacted me about doing a fun couple’s session. I met up with Mike and Kayley in Saint Johnsbury, VT and we then moved to a few locations that I frequent between there and my studio in Monroe, NH. We ended our fun, modern session in my studio and despite it being a bit windy and chilly during our session, it was a fun time and the result are images that capture this young couple in this amazing time in their lives. Thanks Kayley and Mike!!! -Sammi

I know I have neglected my poor blog, but in the height of Senior Portraits, I have a good excuse. My third year as a HS Senior Portrait Photographer, this has been such an amazing year. I adore photographing Seniors, especially from the area where I started it all. It’s reassurance the 45 minutes to see me isn’t so far after all.
Sarah, the youngest in her family was my first senior girl this year. The hectic world of relocating gave me doubts I would be able to get in the full swing of Senior Portraits this season, but Sarah told me she knew she wanted me to take her portraits when she saw images of a senior friend from last year. What a fantastic compliment. I feel as though I have more then a professional relationship with my clients and meeting with Sarah and her Mom, Carol proved just that. Thank you so much for choosing me to capture these truly important portraits.

I am a hypocrite.. I admit it. I don’t necessarily feel like my “likes” on fb defines my business. However, being in a new place, I would like to see some new faces too! Word of Mouth has been my biggest, amazing advertisement. I am so thankful when people do refer me. It makes me feel all warm and gushy inside knowing the love of my chosen career makes people happy and they love and appreciate custom portraiture as much as I do. In a business where most prosumer cameras’ price points are pretty reasonable and having a photography “business” is easy as addding “photography” to your name, it’s a challenge to set yourself apart. Thankfully I have a client base that truly can, at a glance, know the difference. I HEART all of you that do.. THANK YOU!!!!
I only do one giveaway a year, if any. So, be sure to tell all your friends. Here are the rules:
All comments must be made here, on my blog, under this post.
If you are already a fan of my page.. leave a comment telling me so.
If you haven’t “liked” my page run over and click the “like” button and leave a comment telling me you did.
Did you refer someone new who wasn’t already a fan? Leave another Comment telling me the name. (they must have “liked” me…I will check) Dislike being FB police, but fair is fair
The drawing will take place from Random.Org and all entrants will be put into the drawing in the order of their commment. Drawing will take place when I reach that “magic” number.

My PSA to end this post… Please be sure to seek out a professional photographer/studio for your Senior portrait experience. A Professional will know how to get the most from your Senior’s session. They will have the professional equipment and most important, the knowledge and training to use it. Professional Photographers will know how to deal with many lighting situations. They will know how to professionally edit & retouch when necessary. Many hours of training and investment have gone into professional software. They use only professional labs and they are calibrated to their labs color requirements. Do they have a website or blogsite? Look at their portfolio for consistency in their images. Blurry, soft images with obvious color and lighting issues are probably a good indicator a “photographer” needs more training and skills. They may use lingo, like “photo shoot” but a “pic” is not a replacement for a professional portrait.
I first discovered MillieLee Designs while doing one of my many “window shopping” afternoons on Etsy. I fell head over heals for her beautiful creations. The dresses were simple with a flare and the patterns classic and gorgeous. Something I look for when shopping for my girls. Did I mention Milli Lee’s dresses are also Organic? Organic, made in America and supporting a small business, love it!!! Etsy is the place I shop first when I am on the look-out for everyday clothes that also photograph well and I can hand down from girl to girl. I am not a “trendy” Mommy, sometimes this disapoints my girls, but I think they will grow an appreciation for all things classic and timeless. There seriously isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t get compliments on the girls’ appearences. Comfortable, yet beautiful is my standard. Yes, my girls are allowed to play in the mud, go barefoot and climb trees, just not in Etsy treasures. lol.
Here are just some of the gorgeous creations you will find in Milli’s shop…
One of my beautiful clients.. she was just a few weeks old when I first photographed her. My, how the time has flown!
All hair accessories are also products made from love found at Etsy. Support the small businesses and Moms who put so much love and their talent into each of these products. You really do get what you pay for and I choose to do my part in supporting small business women like myself.
I knew the Custom Frame to display my newest portrait in my new living room would be something from The Organic Bloom. I knew I wanted something different from everything else I saw in the general market, and The Organic Bloom’s custom frames are just so gorgeous and unique. You can make it your own with custom colors and a design that works with any decor. I ordered mine to incorporate the colors of my new living room and would work with any portraits if I choose to change them out from year to year. Like a piece of furniture, it was an investment. It’s timesless and no matter if I change up my styles and colors, it will remain a constant fixture. Each of my Fall Family clients will have a chance to win an 8×10 frame with their choice of style and colors from The Organic Bloom and a portrait print from their session. Around The Bend Photography is proud to be a Full Service, Custom Boutique Studio.
Pictured is a Twin Stack Frame in two different colors and a glaze added to the inside frame, custom made for a 16×24 portrait. As you can see the over-all dementions are larger, which is one of the components that makes these frames so amazing. Each mounted print 11×14 and larger from Around The Bend Photography is beautifully textured and sprayed for protection.
A few spots left for my Fall Family and Children Special… email me for times and dates firstname.lastname@example.org or call 603.638.3014
The trees which line my drive-way remind me that Fall is knocking on our door. It still may be August, but everything is quickly changing. I only offer this special once a year and the weekend dates are quickly filling up. I have some weekday afternoon and mornings to accomodate as many people and schedules as I can. These are the perfect opportunity to update your family portrait or capture your children another year older. Portraits always make the perfect gifts for the Holidays. Whether a classic framed portrait or an amazing, custom storyboard. Don’t miss out!
**Holiday cards are two-sided flat, custom designed and come with envelopes. You will have a choice of 3-5 designs in your private gallery to choose from. Up to (2) design changes will be included. If you are an individual or family who does not wish to have Holiday cards, you may choose two additional gift prints** A complete pricing guide for additional portrait prints, wall portraits, exclusive Fall special products and business policies will be given at session time. If you wish to have these prior, please inquire.
My Fall specials are perfect for families who haven’t a lot of time, sibling portraits or couples. Because of time limitations I am not able to accomodate larger families (more then 6 people) or newborns. Please inquire about regular scheduling. email@example.com
Kyle was my first Senior of the season. His Mom contacted me months ago, excited about his session. Kyle goes to the Green Mountain Technical Center. He is involed in the forestry program and all around lover of anything outdoors. He helps his Dad in the woods and as the youngest in his family, I am sure it will be bittersweet for his Mom to let him go in a few months. We had a great session, his easy going attitude and relaxed style made our time go by quickly. Thank you Kyle and thank you Della for choosing me as the photographer to capture these once-in-a-lifetime portraits.
