Last week the first round of my brand new Newsletter went out. This will be sent out every few months. If you signed up after the initial mailing or need to sign up, here is the special I announced..I was going to wait until Saturday, but my weekend is very busy and I don’t want to forget!
I have already booked a few of these appointments and some certificates have been purchased. Make sure to book early.. My new Red “Lola” Epiphanie camera bag arrived today! I absolutely love it! My old camera bag was really not my style. It served it’s purpose well enough, but always seemed bulky and not comfortable. My Epiphany bag is just my style… truly gorgeous and very well made. It will fit my canon cameras and L lenses just fine. This way, my camera can really go everywhere!

I am a hypocrite.. I admit it. I don’t necessarily feel like my “likes” on fb defines my business. However, being in a new place, I would like to see some new faces too! Word of Mouth has been my biggest, amazing advertisement. I am so thankful when people do refer me. It makes me feel all warm and gushy inside knowing the love of my chosen career makes people happy and they love and appreciate custom portraiture as much as I do. In a business where most prosumer cameras’ price points are pretty reasonable and having a photography “business” is easy as addding “photography” to your name, it’s a challenge to set yourself apart. Thankfully I have a client base that truly can, at a glance, know the difference. I HEART all of you that do.. THANK YOU!!!!

I knew the Custom Frame to display my newest portrait in my new living room would be something from The Organic Bloom. Okay, this was a serious challenge. I wanted to post 10 for 2010 favorites. Holy cow, I didn’t know how hard that would be. I don’t even think I hit the tip of iceburg here. Seriously, they are all like my kids and so very hard to leave out any. I think what you see is a great summary of my style and how I work. I know I will continue to evolve. It’s inevitable with any skill or trade. The more you do it, the better it gets. My favorite session will most likely be my next one and the one after that and so on.
I am a children’s photographer, senior photographer and a little bit in between. 2010 gave me the opportunity to experience a mirad of sessions. I found, while I love weddings, they aren’t where my heart is. I do love bridal sessions though! I want to give my clients timeless art that will enhance their homes and hearts. I want clients to know to make the most out of your custom session, planning is essential. Planning for your time, planning to make the best of your session and planning for your investment. Yes, investment. Custom portrait sessions should be well thought out, down to your attire. After all, it isn’t everyday this will happen. I will do everything I can to accomodate all my clients. Thanks for a great year and I am looking forward to an amazing 2011!!!
Bridal sessions along with Senior sessions truly are my favorite! I feel so at home each time I do one and when I proof them, have a hard time picking out favorites. This one wasn’t any different.
Jeanna contacted me about doing a formal bridal session with her new husband Jamie in July, shortly after their honeymoon. They got married in Montpelier on 4th of July weekend and if you have ever been there during that time, you can agree how hectic and crowded that little city can get. Unfortunately due to scheduled events, they weren’t able to get shots in front of the Capital building like they had hoped. So we made plans to capture the essence of our beautiful state capital.
We arrived at the Capital with the threat of rain the whole way. The skies were super dark and the light was not going to last as long as I had hoped. Well, the venue wasn’t what we had hoped either. There was another event going on and all we could do was laugh. I quickly found a temporary place to get started and it was a blessing in disguise. My friend has an incredible garden spot and the light there is always so gorgeous. It didn’t disappoint on this night either. The rain held off and we were able to fit in some time at the capital building too, event still going on and all. If you can’t beat em’, you might as well join em’! Enjoy your sneak peek Jeanna and Jamie, it was such a pleasure photographing you both. You were great sports!
There was a band playing so I asked Jamie to twirl his bride, they even got applause and the song was dedicated to them.
So excited to do another Princess Bridal session. I traveled to Montpelier for this one, photographing in a beautiful garden and at our State’s Capital. Two beautiful locations. Hannah was a so amazing to work with. She showed up in her little red car surrounded by puddles of fabric from her beautiful dress. I really loved her enthusasium and excitement. She has been married 3 years and was happy to wear her wedding dress once again. Adorned with a peacock head band and blue flower to change it up a bit, she was a dream to photograph. We shot until there was no light and I was wishing it wouldn’t end. I am loving the creative processing I am able to do with her images and these sessions provide me the perfect opportunity. If you are wanting to bring out your dress again and feel like a princess for a few hours, don’t miss your opportunity! Winter will be here before you know it and I think fall would provide us with a perfect backdrop of color!
