My PSA to end this post… Please be sure to seek out a professional photographer/studio for your Senior portrait experience. A Professional will know how to get the most from your Senior’s session. They will have the professional equipment and most important, the knowledge and training to use it. Professional Photographers will know how to deal with many lighting situations. They will know how to professionally edit & retouch when necessary. Many hours of training and investment have gone into professional software. They use only professional labs and they are calibrated to their labs color requirements. Do they have a website or blogsite? Look at their portfolio for consistency in their images. Blurry, soft images with obvious color and lighting issues are probably a good indicator a “photographer” needs more training and skills. They may use lingo, like “photo shoot” but a “pic” is not a replacement for a professional portrait. 
I first discovered MillieLee Designs while doing one of my many “window shopping” afternoons on Etsy. I fell head over heals for her beautiful creations. The dresses were simple with a flare and the patterns classic and gorgeous. Something I look for when shopping for my girls. Did I mention Milli Lee’s dresses are also Organic? Organic, made in America and supporting a small business, love it!!! Etsy is the place I shop first when I am on the look-out for everyday clothes that also photograph well and I can hand down from girl to girl. I am not a “trendy” Mommy, sometimes this disapoints my girls, but I think they will grow an appreciation for all things classic and timeless. There seriously isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t get compliments on the girls’ appearences. Comfortable, yet beautiful is my standard. Yes, my girls are allowed to play in the mud, go barefoot and climb trees, just not in Etsy treasures. lol.

I am loving all the beautiful colors available for Fall dressing this year. Purples, Burgundy and Grey seem to be every where. Almost anywhere you shop or in your very own closet, I am sure you will be able to find coordinating your family will be easier then you thought. It’s all about staying within the same color tones and complimenting hues. I will have a few more ideas coming your way next week! Since I will be photographing Seniors, particularly Senior girls each week this month, I thought it was time for a new What To Wear Senior Girl Style. These styles are affordably available almost anywhere. It’s fun to mix up a little more dressy with a little casual. With my Senior sessions, clothing options are unlimited. You can choose 2 outfits or 5. It’s your session, your style. Have fun with it!
Fall is my favorite time to photograph. The wonderful colors give us an amazing backdrop for sessions. I also love the dark jewel toned clothing of the season. Coordinating your family can be a challenge and my guides will give you ideas on how to get everyone looking spectacular for your portraits. Portraits are an investment, one that never decreases in value, but rather become priceless. Overtime poor clothing choices can date a portrait. Make sure extra effort is given, be aware that logos should be avoided as well as the super trendy. Classic and timeless are always a better choice. The ideas in my guides can be used by high school seniors as well.
I can’t believe June isn’t even over yet, and my July is booked up. Seems like this summer is just flying by already! I have a mix of portrait sessions lined up in the next few weeks, from sweet newborns, a wonderful wedding to beautiful families. How lucky and fortunate I feel and oh, lets not forget priviledged too.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy independence day! I will be busy over the next few days finishing up on galleries so I can spend the weekend not worrying about unfinished work…lol. I am looking forward to a beauitful newborn girl I get to photograph on Monday, I came home last night to a beautiful tutu set for her to try out for me.

I wanted to thank my friends for helping me find great locations in and around Greensboro and Hardwick to hold my photo sessions. I appreciate the support in my journey, it means the world to me! I have also been flattered by numerous wedding inquiries I have been getting. This is an area I am educating myself on and hope to explore more in the future.

In anticipation of upcoming family sessions I wanted to share a weekend addition of what to wear for the family. Summer is the perfect opportunity to incorporate bright, fun colors. The greenery surrounding us gives the perfect back drop to make your family pop in portraits. Sometimes we think everyone needs to be matching exactly. Not true. Mixing patterns but keeping in the same color palett will give your portrait a modern touch. Keeping it a little casual will make the whole family comfortable and it will show through your photographs. Remember, May is the last month to book with deposit and recieve $100 back in print credits. Inquire now about available dates and times. I am now booking into June and have a few dates left. My session times are limited each week so I can provide the best service possible and still have time for my own family.
